A lovely beach for sunbathing in the summer or walking along to Cogden Beach and Chesil Beach Eastwards, or to West Bay if you head West There is a car park, dog-free area (dogs allowed further along the beach) and the Hive Cafe has both takeaway and a sit in restaurant for breakfast, coffee, lunch or dinner. Dolphins have been reported frolicking in the sea.

LOCAL TRANSPORT The closest train stations to Asker Lodge are Dorchester, Crewkerne and Axminster, all approx 30 minutes’ drive from Bridport. The cost of taxis to Bridport is approx: • Dorchester £30-45 • Crewkerne £40-55 • Axminster £30-45 Buses: X51 & X53 go to/from Dorchester and Axminster. The 6 bus is to/from Crewkerne Cycling is a great way to get around - ask us for recommendations and deals for bike hire.

Saturday street market is great for produce & antiques

Walking - walk down the old railway track to West Bay or do some of the South West Coastal Path. West Bay to Seatown is lovely - with a stop at the Anchor Inn before you head back. Beaches - Burton Bradstock, just a few miles east of Bridport has a lovely beach and beach café called the Hive. Cogden Beach is the next beach as you head east, with an unspoiled, wilder vibe which leads into the 18 mile expanse of famous Chesil beach. For a more classic family seaside feel to your beach then head to Yarmouth or Swanage.
