Ramona, known as "The Valley of the Sun" in San Diego County, lies along the foothills of the noteworthy Cuyamaca Mountains, giving way to warm summers and comfortably mild winters.
-Ramona has emerged as one of CALIFORNIA WINE COUNTRY's more popular regions, since numerous winemakers have chosen to establish themselves among the town’s hills. Vineyards pair with the fine restaurants and welcoming cafes of the town center, and agricultural treasures span farms that offer the best of fresh fruit, vegetables, and even eggs harvested that same day.
-We have 2 GOLF COURSES: one of which is Mount Woodson a beautiful, manicured 18-hole course and the other is San Vicente Golf Club features an 18-hole championship course, a lighted driving range, and a pro shop. Designed by Ted Robinson, the Par 72 course is easily considered to be one of San Diego's most beautiful courses by many.
-How about going to the RACES...Barona Speedway offers a variety of cars, including sprint cars, street stocks, pony stocks, and factory stocks, all racing on a quarter-mile dirt track.
-Are you up for doing some HIKING...One of the area's most curious natural attractions is the sliver-shaped Potato Chip Rock at the peak of Mount Woodson

This park is about 20 minute drive from our cabin. It is an 1,800 acre zoo in the San Pasqual Valley area of San Diego, California, near Escondido. It is one of the largest tourist attractions in San Diego County. So if you're looking to go on a safari this is the place for you.
