Moore Charters are local fishing guides that run four boats out of Auke Bay. These guys seem to know where the fish are throughout the summer.

The Alaska State Museum is one of the better museums I've been to. Should it rain on one of the days during your visit, this is a great thing to do while staying dry. The exhibits include: local native artifacts, an area that covers some of the history of mining in the area, a section that covers the military in the area, and a great display on the commercial fishing in SE Alaska over the years.

The Shrine of Saint Therese sits on one of the prettiest pieces of property in Juneau. The property all in sits on 46 acres of mainly wooded forest. The church was perfectly built out of stone in the 1930's, and it is open for everyone to see. When visiting there, keep a look out for Marmots, they can be seen in the rocks between the lawn and the Saltwater.

During the summer months here in Juneau, the Jensen-Olson Arboretum is a great destination. The donated property has one of the largest array of flowers in Southeast Alaska.

Nugget Falls is really close to the Airbnb, and will put you really close to the Mendenhall Glacier for great pictures. The Falls is 377 feet tall with two drops. Once you are at the falls the temperature will be about 10 to 15 degrees colder, so bring an extra jacket.

Food scene

Zerelda's Bistro is a local favorite. It is locally owned and every meal I've ever had there was excellent. The food is produced fresh daily, and if you are searching for a high end dessert they will not disappoint.

The Hangar On The Wharf is located downtown. The food is pretty good, but what I like most about it is you can actually get a seat out on the deck over the water and just hang out.

The Salt restaurant in Juneau is probably the best place to eat here. It's expensive, but all of the food is prepared to perfection and the staff is top notch. I usually order the Filet Mignon, just saying.

Pel'meni is on the Wharf and is also a local favorite that most people don't know about. This little restaurant brings the flavors of Russia to Juneau. I recommend ordering one serving per each person in your party, and two sour creams each. If you dip your portions in the sour cream it just ties all the flavors together.

The Island Pub, is a great place to eat out on Douglas Island. During some of the winter months it's a great place to watch across the waterway, the Department of Transportation shells the snow banks between Juneau and Thane. This usually produces some great avalanches to watch.
