Milan is a multicultural, progressive and most European city in Italy. Being at the crossroads of the main trade routes of Europe, it has been and remains the leading trading platform and a kind of showcase of innovations - cultural, economic and industrial. Here is the largest exhibition area in Italy, which hosts the most important international exhibitions of fashion, design, engineering, service and construction. The main city of the richest region of the country - Lombardy - houses the stock exchange, banks, media, fashion houses, headquarters of leading Italian corporations, advertising, travel and transport companies. After hosting the world exhibition Expo 2015, and receiving 22 million tourists, Milan has moved into the status of the most important cities in the world. The cultural heritage of Milan, its monuments, churches, museums are masterpieces of Italian creativity. Architecture, music, fine arts remain an important part of the life of the city to this day. Milan is the center of education. People come here to study what the Italian economy is based on: architecture, design, fashion, marketing, finance, medicine. In addition, this city is the center of European shopping with the largest concentration of brands in Italy. Milan is a very sporty city. Here is the famous San Siro stadium for 80 thousand people, the Formula 1 track in Monza and two leading football clubs - Milan and Inter. From Milan, a stone's throw to Turin, Genoa, Cote d'Azur, Geneva, Verona, Venice, Florence, Rome. To the north of the city are the Alps, which Italy shares with Switzerland, France and Austria. To the west and east are two seas, the Mediterranean and the Adriatic. Therefore, Milan is very convenient for permanent or temporary residence, transit and organizing a wide variety of tourist routes.
