Matarmenning

New restaurant (June 2022) that offers Mexican food and great atmosphere. My favourite food there is shrimp tacos and tostadas. Must to order the chocolate skull and white chocolate ´corn´ for desserts. Cocktails are must too ;)

Sundhöllin is right in the centre, it is Reykjavík's oldest pool (but most recently renovated). It's a popular destination with great facilities.

Hallgrímskirkja is a Lutheran parish church in Reykjavík. At 74.5 metres tall, it is the largest church in Iceland and among the tallest structures in the country. Taking the lift to the top of the tower is well worth it for the breathtaking views over the city. Admission to the church is free but it costs ISK 1200 to go up the tower (200 kr for children 7-16)

Perlan is a Nature Exploratorium and among Reykjavik’s main landmarks. There is 360-degree viewing deck on the fourth floor from where you don’t only see Reykjavik, but also the surrounding mountains with the help of panoramic telescopes. Great fun visiting the indoor ice cave, and then get some ice cream at the ice cream parlor.

Hverfi

Downtown Reykjavik is small enough to easily explore on foot. Walking down the main shopping street Laugarvegur, and make sure to turn into Skólavörðustígur, which leads to the impressive Hallgrimskirkja church.
