Hiking

Bridal Veil Falls is an epic waterfall at the end of a beautiful and moderate hike. If you're up for a longer hike, continue up to Lake Serene to see the crystal-clear lake surrounded by the peaks. It's just a short drive from SkyCamp.

Heybrook Lookout is another amazing hike a very short drive from SkyCamp. It's a short but steep hike with a special payoff: at the top there's a large lookout tower that gives you an even better view!

Other Activities

The Great Northern & Cascade Railway station in Skykomish is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places due to its important role in Washington State's railroad development. Trains still go through here, and there's a small museum and miniature railway where kids can take a ride!

Food scene

There aren't a lot of places to eat in Skykomish, so fortunately Cascadia Inn has great food. I also love it's small-town diner atmosphere, owing to the owner's hospitality and the locals. Recommended for breakfast and lunch.

City/town information

If you're staying for a few days, consider the drive over Stevens Pass to the famous Bavarian town of Leavenworth. It's got a lot to do and see, from the expected Biergartens and Pretzels to the offbeat Nutcracker Museum. I also love wandering around waterfront park and the multitude of wine tasting options.
