Food Scene

A great place to get pub food and beer! Usually filled with locals. Lots of Irish dishes made here! Food is average but the atmosphere and beer selection is great!

To experience a little bit of Wabasha “fame” head over to Slippery’s Bar and Grill for some food, drinks and a great view. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and lots of “Grumpy old Men” history! (I say “fame” because even though Grumpy Old Men was based in Wabasha, it was never actually filmed there!!). Food is typical bar food so don't have high expectations if you choose to eat there!

Great Pizza @ Riverboat Lanes! Just a 1/2 block away it is the perfect place to grab a pizza and bring it back to the cabin to have a meal in! Papa Tronnio's Pizza is the name of the actual restaurant located in the bowling alley.

If you are in Wabasha you MUST take the time to head over the bridge to Nelson Cheese Factory . They have $2 homemade ice cream, a wonderful menu of food, a superb wine collection and an assortment of local cheese and meats for sale throughout their store. Go for a long afternoon of wine tasting or grab an ice cream on the go, either way it is worth the short drive to Nelson, Wisconsin. *Fun fact. My late Grandfather's best friend opened Nelson Cheese Factory years and years and years ago. It is now run by his children and soon to be passed onto his grandchildren.

Right around the corner from the cabin is the Silver Star Saloon + Grill which is where you will find all things American and Tex- Mex! This is our family's favorite place to eat in Wabasha for some good "pub food". The Silver Star is also a great place to grab a very affordable drink and mix with the younger local crowd. Jukebox music is playing and the scene is usually hopping late into the night.

Elegant, eclectic food in a congenial and casual atmosphere. It is the most unique place in the surrounding area to go for a nice dinner. Closed in the winter therefore make sure it is open before you head over! Fancy food but worth the cost and effort as it is a 10/10.
