Vail is one of the most recognized and highly regarded ski resort destinations in the world, located just 99 miles West of Denver, CO. Visitors and residents alike enjoy the 1,100 acres of open space accounting for 50% of Vail’s town-owned land; 350,000 surrounding acres of national forest, crowned by 5,289 skiable acres on one of the largest and best ski mountains in the world. Vail is a year-round destination that continues to supply travelers with lifelong memories and endless activities to enjoy. Whether you're traveling to Vail to ski, mountain bike, hike, camp, or shop, you're bound to find a wide array of exciting activities for everyone in the family to enjoy. In the summer, explore the miles of scenic biking and hiking trails or zip, fly, and tube on the mountain at Epic Discovery. Vail has five base village areas: Vail Village, Lionshead Village, West Vail, East Vail, and Cascade Village. Vail Village: Cross under the covered bridge and stroll up bridge street to Gondola One. In-between, you’ll find a quaint village atmosphere with world-class restaurants, shops, late-night hot spots, and more. Lionshead Village: Lionshead Village is replete with great dining and shopping options, plus a sweet playground for the groms, an ice rink in winter, and it's just a few steps to the Gondola. A perfect home base for your alpine adventures. Vail Square, in the center of Lionshead, features an ice rink in the winter. In summer, the space is used for concerts and small events. Lionshead Bavarian-inspired village is completely closed off to cars and busses and is nestled at the base of the Eagle Bahn Gondola West Vail: In West Vail, you’ll find a wide variety of shopping including grocery stores, hardware stores, fast-casual restaurants plus access to hiking and biking trails. Directly on the free bus system, there is no need for a car with easy access to Vail and Lionshead Village. East Vail: East Vail is connected to Vail’s hub by road, bicycle, and hiking trails. Vail’s 18-hole golf course defines the land along the meandering Gore Creek as it flows from the Gore Range into town. Primarily a forested residential community, East Vail is home to a racquet club with tennis, health club, spa, and restaurant facilities. Just east of the village on the way to East Vail are the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, Vail Nature Center, and parks and playgrounds that draw visitors and locals alike. Skiing

Leaving Lionsheads pedestrian village, the Eagle Bahn Gondola takes you straight to the slopes. It can carry 12 riders at a time and has a vertical rise of 2,200 feet. This gondola is open at night throughout the winter and summer to allow visitors access to Eagle Bahn restaurants, nighttime tubing, and snowmobiling.
