Located along the Gulf of Mexico about 35 miles northwest of Tampa, New Port Richey’s riverfront landscape blends nature, beaches and terrific shopping with restaurants, culture and business – all with a small-town feel. Today the Anclote River along the sponge docks of Tarpon Springs churns with possibilities for boat rides. St. Nicholas Boat Line continues the family tradition, going out daily for half-hour cruises with a demonstration of traditional Tarpon Springs sponge diving.

If you want a cheap boat ride and like to gamble check their website for the monthly calendar for sailing times and more importantly the specials. The whole trip takes about 6 hours.

The Freezer is a little over a 1 hour drive from the Boat House but if you find yourself exploring the Crystal River area, this is a MUST spot if you love seafood and especially Peel and Eat Shrimp. Located on the Homosassa River the Restaurant is in the Old Fish Freezer (hence the name). As of the last time we were there it was still Cash Only.
