We love coming to this quiet food stop at Encounter Cove . Their burgers are amazing, and you must try their shakes as well. Don’t forget to save some extra fries to feed the catfish and turtles right along the lake. If you plan ahead you can reserve some time on their water obstacle course for a small fee.

This is our beautiful state park. It’s ONLY about 15 minutes by car or even closer by boat where you can use their community dock . You will see some of the most breathtaking views of the lake and local terrain. Pack a lunch and hike for hours. Locals like to cliff jump in this area and If you are brave enough you can swim in the frigid, but refreshing and natural spring as it merges with the lake water.

Then it's time to enjoy a relaxing float back to the resort at your own pace. Once there, they have a huge "slip-n-slide" for the whole family to join in. This has become a yearly tradition for our family.
