Café , Værnedamsvej, Vesterbro Værnedamsvej in Copenhagen’s Vesterbro neighbourhood has been a hub of cool for ages, but in recent years it’s somehow dodged the gentrification and tourism of the ultra-spotlighted Nørrebro – making it even more of a draw. With its fresh flowers, cute boutiques, wine bars, cheese shops and even a French lycée, it’s something of a mini-Paris in the Danish capital.

Bánh MiVietnamese CPH, food, Enghave Plads 12, Vesterbro Bánh Mì is the perfect fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisine Bánh Mì means wheat bread in Vietnamese - but Vietnamese only know one kind of wheat bread, and that is baguette that Frenchmen took with them to Vietnam under colonial. When you take a bite of Bánh Mì, you will experience a mouthful of the best from both France and Vietnamese kitchen. Bánh Mì come in a variety of flavors, but the basic ingredients are always a baguette, battered daikon/carrots, coriander, homemade meatballs or tofu and of course plenty of flavors - we season with pepper mayo, chili (Sriracha) and soy. Our Bánh Mì is freshly baked every day and the filling is homemade and made from scratch.

Haderslevgade, Vesterbro Osteria 16 is a lively 35-seater restaurant with a seasonally-evolving, eight-dish antipasti tasting menu. Located in Vesterbro, the small restaurant packs tables in tightly, but its large arched window ensures the effect is cozy and convivial rather than cramped. Osteria 16 is Italian in both temperament and taste: all dishes are made from scratch using only freshly-imported Italian produce, with Piemonte wines adding to the continental atmosphere. Nearby, just next to Copenhagen’s Central Station, sister restaurant Spaghetteria serves up an equally delicious menu of small dishes that include pasta courses.

At Bouillon it is possible to have the full restaurant experience with three courses, wine in the balloon glass, tablecloth on the table and waiters in uniform – without being ripped off. Denmark’s most famous brewing family once lived in an industrial district with green copper roofs and beautiful details – the place was called Carlsberg. Today the former industrial buildings have been given new life, and are intermingled with modern buildings, climate-resilient solutions and high-rises. Carlsberg has all the elements of a great story: a dramatic family saga, entrepreneurship, plenty of capital, and an irrepressible faith in the future. Combined with their sense of quality, art and architecture, the Jacobsen brewing family has left a big mark on Copenhagen – and the world. Today, Carlsberg is no longer an industrial district, but an urban district in its own right. Some buildings have been demolished, some have been preserved, and others have been transformed and reused. Together, they form a unique city district in the spirit of a real Copenhagen story

Kødbyen – Copenhagen’s Meatpacking District – is many things. It is white, gray and brown, and it is characterized by its night life, art, gastronomy and industrial history. Like many other big cities, Copenhagen has undergone a powerful transformation in recent decades. Out with noisy and polluting industry, and in with leisure life in all its forms. The unique cultural environment that can be experienced in the industrial buildings of the past is under pressure, but it can be experienced in the raw and dynamic atmosphere of Kødbyen. Today, you will still find butchers operating in the meatpacking district, only they have been joined by artists, designers, photographers, film producers and restaurateurs, which have taken over the vacant spaces once filled with swinging butcher’s knives. Many of the gates that were once locked now stand open all night, and Kødbyen has become an epicenter of Copenhagen

The Cisterns, or Cisternerne in Danish, are the former water reservoirs for Copenhagen, located under the green grass of Søndermarken park across from Frederiksberg Castle in Frederiksberg. Here, in a massive underground space, 16 million litres of drinking water used to flow in a space free from natural light. In the dark, cold and moist underground world, reminiscent of cathedrals and gloomy catacombs, you’ll now find the city’s most exciting and dynamic contemporary art space. Immersive art in Copenhagen When you walk around the area and its changing exhibitions, it’s a fully immersive experience. Artists are invited to create exhibitions suiting this unique environment, so you might find, as in the past, that they have incorporated boat trips in their pieces, or hanging lanterns for light, fire or mirrors. The space invites you to experience another world, perhaps a dreamlike labyrinth or the magical interplay between light and shadow. Climate change-focused exhibitions find a particularly special space here as well.

Agnete and the Merman is a group of bronze sculptures in Copenhagen, Denmark, located underwater in the Slotsholm Canal next to the Højbro Bridge. It has been referred to as one of the least-known works of art in Copenhagen.[1] The sculptures were made in 1992 by the Danish sculptor, photographer, and author, Suste Bonnen.[2] They portray a merman and his seven sons with outstretched arms, begging Agnete to return home.[3] Three other sculptures of merfolk are located in Copenhagen: the "Black Diamond Mermaid", a copy of Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen’s 1921 statue; a large (15-foot) granite mermaid[4] located on the port-of-call cruise ship dock in Copenhagen; and the famous Little Mermaid statue, located on the water’s edge along Langelinie promenade.

Bars, beer, vine, cocktails Vesterbro

Victoriagade 8 B-C
Beer, famous beer from micro brewery, Victoriagade, Vesterbro At the center of Copenhagen's beating heart in Vesterbro lies an unassuming little cellar bar. This is the site of the very first Mikkeller Bar. Originally founded with an ambition to create the best beer bar in the world, this would come to be the blueprint for multiple locations worldwide. None of this was known back when the bar first opened its doors. Back then, Mikkeller founder and CEO Mikkel Borg Bjergsø had a wish to create a cozy place where beer enthusiasts from all over the world could enjoy not only his own beers, but the absolute best that the beer world had to offer – both old and new. This meant that the interior design of the bar had to match the quality of what was in people's glasses. To achieve this, Mikkel teamed up with Danish design bureau Femmes Régionales, who married the feel of more traditional Danish pubs with a light and undeniably Scandinavian aesthetic. This made for a more elegant bar than what most people would commonly associate with drinking beer. Thus, the groundwork was laid, and within a short time, Mikkeller Bar – as it was known back then, being the only one of its kind – soon became a go-to destination for the international beer community, whether you were a dedicated beer geek or an aspiring brewer. Today the bar is still somewhat of a historic landmark in the Mikkeller universe. It features a tap list with a heavy focus on our own beers. As with all Mikkeller bars, delicious snacks are served, ranging from some of the best Danish cheese available to handmade sausages. Besides the taps, this bar is worth a visit for its crazy list of vintage Mikkeller bottles dating all the way back to the company's early days, as well as guest bottles.

Learn more about the joys of natural, biodynamic and organic wines with their clued-up and cute staff. Værnedamsvej, Copenhagen Værnedamsvej in Copenhagen’s Vesterbro neighbourhood has been a hub of cool for ages, but in recent years it’s somehow dodged the gentrification and tourism of the ultra-spotlighted Nørrebro – making it even more of a draw. With its fresh flowers, cute boutiques, wine bars, cheese shops and even a French lycée, it’s something of a mini-Paris in the Danish capital.

106 year old pub Slow beer. Vinstue 90 is one of the places in Frederiksberg that stood out for many years before beer became hype again. It was the place where you had the possibility to have a genuine slow beer - and it still is. It is a cosy place where you still can find the ambiance of the pre-cafe days. On summer days you can relax outside and enjoy the busy Gammel Kongevej with a nice beer in your hand. Gl. Kongevej, Frederiksberg
