Here's the back way get to the NP and several hiking trails, which allows you to dodge the traffic going in and out of the park:
1. Take a right out of our community onto Waldens Creek.
2. Go right on Wears Valley Rd.
3. Go a few miles and take a left on Lyon Springs Ln, follow this into the national park to Little Gorge Rd.

If you are driving through Maryville (they also have a location in Knoxville) this is our favorite sushi/Japanese spot in the East Tennessee. It rivals the great sushi we had in Los Angeles when we lived there!

Our go to's are the original wet wings (or anything with the Thunder Road sauce!), one of their burgers or their ceasar salad with roasted chicken & garlic roasted tomatoes. this is the location closets to our house but we also love the one in Gatlinburg for a more "local" feel.

Forgot something? Whaley's has all your basic needs and it's just down the road from our cabin. They also have good sandwiches and Amish made products. For bigger shopping needs, head a few more miles down the road to Publix or Kroger.

Teaster Lane
Teaster Lane is about a 3 mile road that runs parallel to Parkway. Its a road less travelled and is the path we take to several places. such as Dollywood, LeConte Center, Mellow Mushroom, Marshalls, Starbucks and many other places. If you avoid Parkway for any length...it is worth it!

Make Reservations for Everything!!
The Smoky Mountain National Park has nearly 15 M visitors a year (and that's just the park!) so plan ahead and make reservations wherever you go! The only slower months are Jan & Feb but I would still recommend reservations.
