Food Scene

This beautiful restaurant is about 10 to 15 minutes easy walk from the old city, east along the waterfront, thanks to that it is away from the tourist crowd. The waterfront setting in the trees is really beautiful, it is an excellent place to have a dinner or just enjoy having coffee or cake over the day.

The oldest Cathedral in the world The Cathedral of Saint Domnius, consecrated at the turn of the 7th century AD, is regarded as the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world that remains in use in its original structure, without near-complete renovation at a later date (though the bell tower dates from the 12th century). The structure itself, built in AD 305 as the Mausoleum of Diocletian, is the second oldest structure used by any Christian Cathedral.

One of Games of Thrones filming location - Klis Fortress, an ancient stronghold built upon stone cliffs a top of the City of Split, a structure that has been the epicenter to some of Croatia’s most legendary struggles throughout history. In recent years, Klis Fortress has found a new role: as the perfect filming location for Danaerys’s stronghold. Once you are there, looking down upon the scenery from the top of the hill, you will feel the sheer power of the mighty Targaryens. Here you will enjoy the traditional Croatian culinary delight of peka – a dish grilled under the bell – fresh, home made bread, local wines and water, and you will enjoy all of this in an actual Game of Thrones ambient, under the torchlight, on an open stage at the top of the fortress, with a breathtaking view of the Dalmatian Metropolis, Split.

Here you can find Orson Welles statue. What does Orson Welles have to do with Split, and especially, what does he have to do with the Joker shopping centre where this statue is set? Welles met his companion Oja Kodar while shooting his film The Trial in Zagreb in 1961. Since that time he was a regular visitor in Croatia, bought a villa near Primosten, and visited Split several times. When Split businessman and former mayor Zeljko Kerum built the Joker Centre, he ordered a statue from Kodar to bring some cultural spirit to his shopping Mecca.
