Beautiful history and beautiful trail! There are plenty of stancheons and they provide ample opportunity for learning about Colorado mining history. A really interesting aspect of this trail is that while you're hiking through old underground mining camps you can also see new surface mines still in production!

Great museum! The first part is an employee giving you the background and a summary of what you’re going to see. Then you are free to roam the cell block, matrons quarters and women/children cell. There is some great prints of historic articles with accompanying art. It was a fun tour, most of the cells are open to walk into. My 5yr old had a blast as did we.

It was a fun tour, most of the cells are open to walk into. My 5yr old had a blast as did we.

Absolutely love this quaint little place. Wonderful food and great people. Highly recommend the Reuben and shoe string fries. When you stop in, say Hi to Jodi and Cassey. Very sweet and kind people.
