During the winter months when the pool at the condo complex is closed, the indoor pool at the SHaRC is the closest public swimming option. It's just a short walk (or drive) down the street from the condo and offers swimming, a hot tub, a rock wall, exercise classes, massages, and a gym. The SHaRC does provide towels, so there is no need to bring your own. Check out their website for more information and pricing https://www.sugarbush.com/things-to-do/health-and-rec-center

Beautiful lake for mountain biking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding. It's a fantastic place to bring a lunch and spend the afternoon picnicking and swimming. Be aware that the location is incredibly popular with mountain bikers and all trails are shared with mountain bikers, so if you are looking for a peaceful hike this is not your best option. On the other hand, if you are looking for some awesome mountain biking this may be your best option! Be aware there are a few parking locations, with one closer to the mountain biking trailhead, one popular for water sports and one more popular for swimming and picnicking.

Unbelievably scenic spot to play a round of golf! The sugarbush golf course features a challenging 18 hole golf course, driving range, pro shop and pub for after-golf drinks and food. Get out and enjoy the beautiful mountain views while you challenge yourself to keep your ball out of the forest. The course is very hilly and spread-out, so carts are recommended and almost no one walks the full 18 holes. If you are looking to get in a little bit more exercise try walking the front 9 and taking a cart for the back.

Great place for yoga! Vinyasa on Saturday mornings with Ana, who is also the owner, is great. Located right in town, about 10 minutes from the condo. They also have other wellness services, such as acupuncture. There is a cute boutique shop with crystals and self-care products.

Looking for a massage after skiing or hiking? Look no further. Great place for a massage. Located right next to the Mad River. Food scene

Our absolute favorite for a quick breakfast or basic supplies. Their cinnamon rolls are the top choice with our family. Located just down the road from the condo, it's a convenient spot to grab breakfast before hitting the slopes. If you are out-and-about during the day they also serve sandwiches for lunch and opened a small taproom in 2023. But if you're at the condo and looking for sandwiches during ski season our top recommendation is Mutha Stuffas due to its convenient location which is just a few feet away from the condo in Sugarbush Village.

The best spot for pizza in the valley! Located a few miles away in Waitsfield, they serve up delicious flatbreads that can't be beat. This is by far the restaurant in the area we visit the most (especially in the summer). The inside is a old barn with a cozy atmosphere where you can watch the pizzas cook in the giant pizza oven located in the middle of the dining area. Aside from the top-notch pizza, they also serve delicious salads. If goat cheese is your thing, opt to add it to your salad to elevate it to the next level. For you pickle lovers, they offer a delicious house-made pickle which shouldn't be skipped. If you still have room left at the end of the meal, they offer some delicious homestyle desserts, usually involving some kind of cake or pie served with ice cream. During the summer months this is an especially beautiful place to hang out and eat dinner. They have a few outdoor wood-burning fire pits, picnic tables to eat take-out or have a drink, and picnic tables with full service. Indoor seating is also an option during the summer if you prefer. If there is a long wait during the summer, the farm has a few pigs and chickens kids love to visit while they wait. For adults, there is often an art exhibit in the barn which you can view while you wait for your table. Stop by, grab a drink and hang out around the fire, or have a full meal. Either way, it's a pleasant way to spend a summer evening. Please be aware this is an incredibly popular place and during both the winter and summer season. If you are going in person there may be a long wait and their online takeout orders often sell out in the early afternoon.

Blue stone is a staple in the valley with a variety of tasty pizzas, salads, and sandwiches. The wraps are made on freshly baked bread and are our favorite. The inside seating is cozy with a relatively small bar area and relatively small separate indoor dining area. There's also an outdoor patio which is tented. We've never dined in during peak ski season, but have never had to wait during other seasons. Two pinball machines are tucked away to the side to enjoy with a drink or while waiting. If you're into beer, they have the best draft selection of Vermont's best beers in the valley. On our last visit they had three great options from Hill Farmstead on tap. Blue Stone also do a healthy takeout business via a dedicated entrance and regardless of the season, orders are ready very quickly as compared to many other options in the valley, making it a great choice if you are looking for quick takeout.

A great choice for some yummy Thai food! This spot is located at the Sugarbush Inn just down the access road from the resort and is much better than you might expect from a mountain Thai restaurant. Our favorite is the pad Thai. If you're looking for a family meal that isn't fried, the basic kids meals (protein, carrots, broccoli, rice) are quite tasty and one of the healthier takeout options in the valley. If you are dining in, you sould expect a quieter, cozier atmosphere than most other of the other local pub-style restaurants.

Run by a local husband and wife team, this is a favorite spot for locals, mountain employees and tourists alike to end the night with a drink after a long day on the mountain. A cozy local bar located in the village just a few steps away from the condo, the location can't be beat and is typically not too crowded. Serving a bar-style food menu, you can also grab a bite to eat with your drink. Dino (the owner) loves 90s hip-hop and brings in various artists over the course of the ski season. So if that's your jam, you might be in luck if your conicides with one of the shows! The Reks is only open during the winter season, typically from mid-November to late April.

Great (and giant) sandwiches just a few steps away from the condo! Mutha Stuffers is a great spot to grab a sandwich in the middle of the day to bring back and enjoy at the condo. Cold cuts are freshly carved to order and the bread is baked in-house. If you're into pickles, the full deli-sized pickles which our famiily loves. Meat lovers, this is the spot for you! Smoked on-site in the parking lot outside of the restaurant, you'll often smell their delicious meats smoking as soon as you turn into the lot. Portions are generous, filling, and served up with minimal wait. The Mad Taco is a counter-service-style restaurant with both indoor seating, outdoor seating, and a bar featuring a great selection of local craft beers on draft. The guacamole is a family favorite for us. The tostadas are another of our favorites, but you can't go wrong no matter what you choose.

If you haven't experienced a maple creemee, then you owe it to yourself to give one a try during your visit. This maple-flavored soft-serve ice cream is a unique and delicious Vermont staple. These treats are especially popular during the hot summer months, but are available year-round in pints to go so there is no excuse for missing out. Flavors other than maple are available as well, but why bother. In addition to the creemees, this spot also has great burgers and chicken sandwiches. The banh mi is our absolute favorite chicken sandwich and the falafel burger is another of our go-to items when we are looking when looking for a less meaty option. It's a counter-service restaurant which mostly does take-out, but there is some limited indoor seating if you're looking to dine in. During the warmer months there are outdoor picnic tables nearby where you can enjoy your food.

Enjoy a beer at their beautiful post and beam building facility featuring year-round interior and exterior seating. Little Sip is our favorite, but try them all to discover yours! They have a limited number of mostly light food offerings as well if you are feeling hungry. Convenient spot to eat located right in the main base area of the resort. With something for everyone, they serve a variety of more upscale pub-style food. The inside seating is comfortable and there is a wrap-around porch with outdoor dining which is nice during the warmer months. We especially enjoy walking over and eating at Rumbles during the summer months when it is less crowded and the atmosphere is a little more relaxed. The menu rotates, so it's hard to recommend a favorite dish, but the food is really excellent and we've never had a bad meal at Rumbles. It is always one of our friends' favorites when they come up. Please be aware that during ski season reservations are strongly recommended. A few times we've checked that many reservations were availible and assumed that because many reservations were availible, it meant we wouldn't have an issue walking in. However, we've found that the availibility of reservations somehow doesn't equate to availible tables and have still had to wait.

Cheese, cheese, cheese! Great little store featuring local Vermont products, but the highlight is the local cheese. The wunderbar is by far our preferred dining option for lunch on the mountain. It is generally much less crowded and chaotic than the gate house cafeteria and they have great (mostly german-themed) food options. We usually go for a pretzel and a beer, or maybe a spiked hot cider on a cold day.

A great local spot serving pub fare! Upstairs is a first-come, first-served pub with a noisy and somewhat cramped atmosphere. Upstairs you'll also find shuffleboard and a foosball table to keep you entertained while you wait. The scene downstairs is a bit quieter, but reservations are required. Both the upstairs and downstairs have the same menu. We recommend the smash burger. Made with locally raised beef and a locally-baked bun, it's a delicious burger made with some of the best the region has to offer.

Waterbury

If you are in the Waterbury this is a popular stop. It's the original home of Ben & Jerrys offering factory tours and ice cream. The tour must be booked in advance, is cool and informative, but largely takes place in one room where you look out over the production floor while the guide talks, so it's not the most immersive experience. Beyond the tour and ice cream there is a gift shop, playground and graveyard where you can grieve the death that flavor you used to love but they no longer make.

If you are going to make the trip to Waterbury during your stay you may want to consider a visit here. Objectively speaking, their beer is not the best that can be found in Vermont, but during the summer months their beer garden is a nice outdoor spot to hang out, relax, and is super kid friendly. They do offer full meals, but reservations are required. So if you plan on dining be sure to book in advance. If you are just there to hang in the beer garden, there are generally some lighter options like soft pretzels with cheese available.
