Iron has the best coffee in the northeast. Strong yet so much flavor. Also a beautiful earthy atmosphere on the inside. Tip-Breakfast is only served till noon and most days they close at 3pm.

Beautiful little dinner with great food and wonderful staff. Great place to drive to if you take back roads from the hotel.
Take Route 346 east into Pownal then take a left onto N Pownal Rd. When you come to route 7 take a right and a quick left onto Barber Pond Rd. Once all the way at the end take a left onto Main St. and the diner will be on the left hand side in about half a mile.

If you are looking for some amazing views in Vermont it’s only right down the road. Would highly recommend an SUV or something with good ground clearance because the road can get a little hairy.

Pack warm clothes in winter months.
A jacket and layers are definitely a must while spending time outside. Temperatures can be very low at night. If you plan on hiking shoes wont cut it i would highly recommend boots with good ankle protection.
