About 10 minutes drive (right onto main road) is where the Congo River meets the Indian Ocean. Drive into the Congo Mosque and there is a cafe and lovely sunsets and swimming.

If you want to scuba, fish or paddle or just laze on a long white beach, walk in here. It's not a major food hub but for serious swimming, fishing or scuba pop in.

You can feed bush babies at Sawa Sawa cottage but at Stilts, they are there regular sharp at 7pm and they give you a talk about them and you can feed them bananas. Stilts does karaoke nights usually on a Thursday.

Feeling adventurous, visit the snake park and learn more about our slithery friends. Note very few poisonous snakes in Diani, if you see one while walking in our forest or compound the green ones are usually harmless, the black ones may or may not be. Note rare to see.

This is a game reserve 40 mins from Diani. You don't often see much wildlife unless you are lucky, but nice hills, waterfall and picnic spot. A nice day out, but not a quick trip.

Good food usually, great views, good for kite surfing at Kennaways, management can be a bit tough and they don't tolerate being late for bookings or stepping out of line well, so don't take it personally!

This is a few minutes walk down beach from cottage or walk out of forested drive and right to the place (few min walk). Nice bar.

You can drive to Shimba Hills (40 min) or Mombasa (hour), or Tsavo (3.5 hours) or even better just hang around. Great beaches, great restaurants, bars, hotels and cafes. You can find your vibe in Diani and pop out as much or as little as you want to.
There is a now big music scene in Diani, with high quality live bands, singers or musicians. If you like music check out Leonardos on weekend nights, Africa Pot on Friday and feel free to contact me for options.
