Food scene

Over the Edge serves delicious local food that is reasonably priced. If ambiance and decor are important to you, then sit on the deck and face the water. The view is wonderful. You'll pass this on the way to our Villa. The service wasn't the best last time we were there, but it was over the holiday's so off season might be a little better.

For a taste of Australia with a Caribbean twist this is great. t’s on the East Side of the island. Friday night is fresh local fish and they have a great happy Monday - Friday and brunch on Sundays. You can even feed the Frigate birds (our 5 year old calls them pterodactyls) which is a fun experience at 5 pm daily…and you also get to see some sharks in the water.

We usually eat downstairs on the beachfront. The upstairs restaurant is more upscale. We enjoy their drinks and food especially red snapper when you can get it. The servers were friendly and fun, and overall just a really festive seaside atmosphere. Excellent wood-fired pizza as well, nice selection of wine and cocktails.

Upstairs at Kaibo We haven’t tried this restaurant yet, but hope to see what is’s like the next time we visit. It is a nicer dining experience that offers a 6 course small plate dining experience and even offers wine and rum pairings too. They say every dish incorporates elements form the Caribbean Sea and they offer a menu composed of what you can find in Cayman.

AKA The Purple Monster - Great for a quick and delicious meal (especially when you have just arrived in Cayman because it is on the way to the Villa). It’s just past the Hurley’s grocery store. We really enjoy their Kebobs.

Excellent cuisine and it is near one of our favorite dive sites (you can snorkel hear, but you see more if you dive). It is an ocean front tiki bar with only patio seating. Located in West Bay on the northwest point of the island. Stop in for lunch for a casual dinner and enjoy delicious food and uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Sea. It’s also close to the Cayman Turtle Centre so make sure to do both if you are in that area.

From the outside this restaurant does not look that impressive because it is located in a strip mall, but the food is delicious and great prices. They also have happy hour. They had a great deal on lobster - 3 tails for $35 with sides included. If you are in the area it’s actually a great place to dine.

Enjoy casual dining with Caribbean flair for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Everyday favorites at The Sunshine Grill include angus burgers, fish tacos and island specialty drinks. They have amazing loaded fries. It’s located at a hotel and the outside dining is next to the pool, but they also have inside dining as well.

Every entrée includes a complimentary martini, well-drink or beer, as well as your choice of vegetable and starch. Prime Rib dinner on Sunday and Monday and Friday and Saturday they have BBQ Ribs. This was prior to covid you you may call to see if they still offer the complimentary drinks and food specials. We enjoyed it when we went.

Sightseeing

Captain Bobby was fantastic! We booked a private charter with him for half a day and we were quite please. He took us to stingray city and we arrived before all of the crowds so we had plenty of time without a bunch of other people. He also took us deep sea fishing and everyone in our group caught a fish which was a fun experience. We then went snorkeling and saw the beautiful reefs and fish. You can customize your trip with him too if you just want to fish or snorkel without doing stingray city.

This is the perfect place for families to learn about the island’s history, while having lots of fun at the same time. The party provides guests a change to come face to face with these beautiful animals. They do have a schedule stark and large turtle feeing which is great to see. You can even pet some of the smaller turtles and stand in the water with them. There is also a fun little water park with a slide and small waterfall which out kids enjoyed. Located across from Macabuca restaurant in West Bay area so definitely check that restaurant out if you visit the centre.

Great place for families. Can arrive by boat or car. It does get busy so try to go easy before the cruise ship tours come in. Have a parking area with bathrooms and changing rooms. Great place to bring small kids. Would definitely add it to a tour of the area. The starfish are in shallow water. Could snorkeling, but just as fun to walk along in the water. You can pack a picnic for the day or they do have a food boat that had great wings if you don’t want the extra items to pack.

Currently under construction, but will be completed in May. They do have a bar and food truck and if you just want a different beach it’s only 5 minutes from our Villa. Great place to swim if the waves at our beach are rough.

This is a really unique and amazing experience because you ride horses bareback in the ocean. t’s a very picturesque experience; a little pricey, but worth the money if you like horses. Located in West Bay.

If you don’t charter a private tour then you can book a group tour to see this unique experience. A series of shallow sandbars found in the North Sound of Grand Cayman. It is a tourist attraction, where southern stingrays are found in abundance and visitors can pet and interact with the animals. You have to take a tour or have to hire a boat.

A fascinating nature attraction located in Northside, Grand Cayman. You are escorted with a knowledgeable Tour Guide for an adventure exploration of "Cayman Down Under". Go earlier in the day because it’s hot and remember to take water. A bit pricy, but something different to do on the Island.

This is a favorite of ours if you want a change of scenery from our beach or if the waves are high on our side of the island. It has a relaxed vibe and a great place to watch the sunset. There are restaurants along the beach so you can grab drinks and lunch if you don’t bring a picnic.

If you're a nature lover, you should add this to your trip. The trail is a 200-year-old gravel path that winds through a native mangrove swamp and a 2 million-year-old woodland area, surrounded by some of the island's most colorful and rare plant life. It is 4.6 miles round trip and you’ll want to wear the appropriate footwear, bring lots of water, and wear bug repellant as the mosquitoes can be relentless. It is sheltered from the sea breeze so the trail can get quite hot and humid. If you're planning a trip, you'll have a more pleasant experience if you visit in the morning.
