Cypress Trail to Boulders Trail Loop is a 5.2 mile heavily trafficked trail near Payson that serves as a moderately difficult hiking trail. The trail is accessible year round and while dogs are allowed, they must remain on a leash.

Water Wheel Falls is a 1.6 mile heavily trafficked trail located near Payson that features a beautiful waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking an dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a leash.
This trail is only 16 minutes (8.9 miles) away from Three Little Bears.
Tonto Natural Bridge is a 1.4 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Payson and is rated as moderately difficult. At 183 feet high, the bridge spans the area over a 400 foot tunnel that is 150 feet wide at its widest point. This natural arch bridge is believed to be the largest travertine bridge in the world and is a must see when visiting Payson!

Horton Creek Trail is 22 minutes (18 miles) away from Three Little Bears.
First, a helpful clarification is that Ellison Creek and Water Wheel Falls are the same location. To get there, head North from Payson via the 260 highway. Across from Home Depot, turn right onto Houston Mesa Rd and stay on that for 9 miles before you get to the parking lot. It's located on the right side just before the second crossing campground. If you get to Whispering Pines, turn around and look again for the parking lot a mile or two south.
This hike will take about half a day and children should be okay making this hike but it may get difficult navigating rocks depending on the height of the water.

Spend a fun and peaceful
day searching for Geodes! Park at the bottom of the hill and walk up to the power lines. Once at the power lines, follow the hill to the top. Be warned, it's a pretty steep hike so make sure and wear tennis shoes. At the top of the hill, you will get to a pole with a transformer on it and the road veers to the left. This route has open fields of geodes. If you continue on, you'll find more that way too. It's beautiful, quiet and remote.
