On Las Olas Blvd you’ll find some of Fort Lauderdale’s best restaurants and local shops, a favorite spot for tourists and locals alike. Las Olas is located downstairs from the Airbnb! Everything is walking distance however there is a water taxi and local golf cart for easier and quicker transportation.

River walk is the historic district of Fort Lauderdale, located a short walk west of the Airbnb. Once you cross the train tracks, you’ve hit the historic Riverwalk. While all of the walk down the river is historic, this area has some of the original buildings and tons of history throughout. Highly recommend a walk down the river in either direction, East or West, or both!

Some compare it to South Beach in Miami, but personally I feel that it has a much different vibe. Definitely check it out since it’s one of South Florida’s most famous beaches.

Some compare it to South Beach in Miami, but personally I feel that it has a much different vibe. Definitely check it out since it’s one of South Florida’s most famous beaches.
Lauderdale by the Sea is a much more local place to visit with more local restaurants and less upscale places and shops. Located right on the beach slightly north of Las Olas, this is a great place for families and visitors to experience what Fort Lauderdale really has to offer without the high price tag of Las Olas.

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea
Lauderdale by the Sea is a much more local place to visit with more local restaurants and less upscale places and shops. Located right on the beach slightly north of Las Olas, this is a great place for families and visitors to experience what Fort Lauderdale really has to offer without the high price tag of Las Olas.
Food scene
A local favorite & must-visit brunch spot (available Saturday AND Sunday). This restaurant offers a brunch buffet and bottomless mimosas, located right on the intercostal, Shooter’s has some of the best views and food in the area and can be accessed directly by Water-Taxi, which has a stop just steps from the Airbnb!
Highly recommend making reservation at least a few days in advance, especially for Sunday’s!

Shooters Waterfront

A great Asian fusion restaurant located right on the canal. The cool thing about this restaurant is that they partner with a gondola company to offer dinner on a gondola. You order food in advance and they serve it to you on a boat, if I’m not mistaken it’s up to about 6 people or so (but don’t quote me on that). The boat is awesome because the guides are knowledgeable about the area, you see some super interesting real estate from the water, learn about the history and some of the famous families who own properties around town and get to see their homes while having a great meal.
Pro tip - you do NOT need to eat at the restaurant to take the boat tour, you can go inside and ask for the boat brochure, they should be able to give it to you and you can make a reservation on the boat yourself, and bring your own food and wine if you’d like. Amazing experience and highly recommend either way.

Great coffee and wine bar located inside a florist shop!
They usually have live music, half off bottles of wine on Mondays (with live music). Must visit, highly recommend.

One of the best Asian restaurants located in the Conrad Hotel, directly on the beach. Takato has some of the best food with the best views. Highly recommend a visit.

Some of the best seafood you will ever have (in my opinion) however it is a chain restaurant, so if you prefer something a little more local - try Lobster Sea Bar & Grille. Both restaurants are pricey, but worth it. My personal favorite is Eddie V’s.

Water Taxi, Uber & Downtown Golf Cart (Circuit)
Water taxi is such a fun way to get around but it doesn’t go to very many places. Check out the stops at watertaxi.com. Water Taxi trips are enjoyable since it’s a boat going down the water instead of sitting in traffic, but if you’re just trying to get down las Olas, I recommend the golf cart called Circuit. I believe the Circuit is free, plus tips, but I’m not 100% sure. It is super convenient and you’ll see it driving around often. Download the app @ ridecircuit.com/fortlauderdale .

Restaurant Reservations
If you’re going to one of Fort Lauderdale’s hot spot restaurants, I highly recommend a reservation in advance for weekend visits. Fort Lauderdale is growing in popularity and the restaurants are stepping up to Miami’s standards - people are definitely noticing.
