This beautiful red sand beach can be visited anytime, but at low tide you can walk for miles searching for sea glass, sand dollars or sea shells. Children will enjoy playing in the wading pools between the sand bars. Visit closer to high tide for the die-hard swimmers. Kayaking, paddle boarding and even kite boarding are enjoyed here too! Unlike the National Parks, pets are permitted on this beach (on leash). visit the tourism PEI website for more information

This wonderful park has over 20 km of hiking and mountain biking trails. The park weaves through the forest along the West River and is a great location to visit year round. Pets are permitted on leash. Favourite Hiking trail = Howell's Hollow. Park in the lot on the MacKinnon Road (off the Riverdale Road) and walk down the field to this 3 km loop with boardwalks. Favourite Mountain Biking Trail(s) = all of them! But Elliot River Run is fast and flowy (both directions), and the Goat Trail is seriously technical for the expert MTBer! A unique playground is located in the main parking lot area, with picnic tables, a shelter and a toilet facility Visit the Tourism PEI website for more information

Greenwich National Park is a stunning location. Although it is about 1hr 20 min drive from The Stordy House, it is worth it. The floating boardwalk through the marsh with astounding views of the parabolic sand dunes, beautiful greenery, birds, and nature for as far as the eye can see. The walk ends at a vast white sand beach, where you can walk in both directions for ages. This is the least visited of all the beaches in the National Park system, so much less crowded than Brackley Beach or Cavendish. A couple of suggestions for stops along the drive to or from Greenwich: Rick's Fish and Chips in St Peters Bay, Glenaladale House museum, Island Hill Farm (petting farm with goats, llamas, rabbits and more) OR drop some of the crew off at The Links at Crowbush Cove for golfing, while the rest of your group enjoys the beach!

PEI’s Finest Golf consists of the three finest golf courses on Prince Edward Island; Brudenell River, Dundarave, and The Links at Crowbush Cove. We take pride in our course’s excellent condition and our service team’s welcoming island hospitality. Links at Crowbush Cove was recognized by Golf Digest as Canada’s Best New Course in 1994. Overlooking the north shore dunes of PEI, Crowbush continues to enthrall all those that take the challenge to conquer one of North America’s very best. How can it get better than a Golf Digest five star rating? Undulating fairways, water holes with a wisp of wind, pot bunkers and challenging greens all come together to provide you with an experience not to be forgotten. Truly an unbelievable combination of nature and imagination. Of all the courses that are considered a “must play”, Crowbush is certainly one of them. If you can tame the 6,903 yards at the Links, you should be able to play well anywhere. Rated four and a half stars by Golf Digest Places to Play, which raves, “Outstanding, plan your next vacation around it”.

Snowmobile Trail

The Stordy House is located adjacent to the PEI Snowmobile trail system that consists of over 900 kms of groomed trail from tip to tip of the Island. Don't worry, the trail is far enough away from the house that you won't be disturbed by the noise of the machines travelling. However, this does make it an ideal local for sledding enthusiasts!
