City/town information

Because of our unique setting and diverse infrastructure more and more event venues are calling Darrington their home! We are home to two annual large music festivals, the Darrington Bluegrass Festival (July) & Summer Meltdown Festival (August). We also have our annual Timberbowl Rodeo, archery competition, a new mountain bike trail system and a summer street fair. https://www.discoverdarrington.com/events/ In Darrington there is a sense of place, purpose and the desire for fellowship. In these remote surroundings we encourage visitors to spend the best of summer with us. Old-fashioned fun is alive and well here, with the Annual Back-to-School BBQ, Darrington Talent Show, Sauk-Suiattle PowWow and Grand ol’ 4th of July Parade & Fireworks. https://www.discoverdarrington.com/community/ There are several AirBnBs, Tiny Houses, retreats, cabins and Bed & Breakfasts to choose from. Darrington also boasts several campgrounds, many situated amidst gigantic evergreens. Whether you choose to be pampered at a Bed & Breakfast, spend the night at a working sheep ranch, or cook a lumberjack breakfast over a campfire, Darrington has it all! https://www.discoverdarrington.com/visiting/where-to-stay/ The first people to settle in the local valleys were the Sah-ku-mehu, the Sauk-Suiattle Tribe. For generations these skilled canoe people lived as gatherers, hunters and fishermen. In the late 1800s gold was discovered and prospectors flooded to the area. Several settlements sprang up along the North Fork of the Stillaguamish Valley. One became the town of Darrington. Over the decades to come, Darrington became synonymous with the timber industry and is still deeply imbued with lumberjack culture and heritage today. https://www.discoverdarrington.com/history-2/ Learn more at https://www.discoverdarrington.com/
