In the heart of the Old Town, Skrydlov Street will give you the feeling that you are in an authentic bazaar. West of the Municipal Market, the pedestrianized street, also known as Stivanadika, is full of leather goods stores, folk art items and souvenirs. The name of the area is due to the fact that there were only traditional shoe making footwear here - the Cretan, leather boots, which are a basic part of the local, male costume. Nowadays, there are now few stibanoadika, which are flooded daily by countless people who are rushing to buy souvenirs from their stay in the beautiful city of Crete.
