Great short hike to spectacular Elk Falls. Suspension bridge over the Canyon and falls. Multiple short hikes along the river and through the rain forest. I sat on the waters edge and soaked my feet in the cool water up stream of the Elk Falls near a second set of falls. I wish I would have taken my bathing suit so I could have taken a swim. There were others swimming in the river and the lake.

Not many people know this place to visit. But you will be amazed by its outstanding views. Its best for watching sun go down. Please be aware that it is a cliff without fence. It is not good if you have any young kids.

Great park! An hour-hour and a half long hike will bring you to two gorgeous waterfalls; wear hiking shoes as the dirt path gets quite steep and windy as you move over the first waterfall to get to the rapids that make up the second.

Big Qualicum Fish Hatchery is a well laid out hatchery. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. When the salmon are spawning and heading up river they may viewed through a underground viewing station. Great experience for young and seasoned folk.
