FOOD: Our Favorite Breakfast Spots

*WD = Walking Distance *SD = Short Drive
Leon’s is one of the Mt Airy downtown staples. Patterned after a mid-century diner, it feels like walking into the past. The Biscuits and Gravy are spot on, but you can’t go wrong with any of the breakfast combinations. Also have a good lunch. Try the California Burger! *WD*

FOOD: Lunch Stops You'll Love

Mt. Airy’s most famous restaurant, and one of the oldest surviving restaurants in NC. Lots of folks come to Mt Airy just to eat the “Famous Pork Chop Sandwich.” Confession, not a huge fan, but may be worth the experience. If you’re looking for a breakfast biscuit, they have a selection of made from scratch biscuits. Note: Very crowded on Saturday’s. *WD*

FOOD: Picking a Winner for Dinner

Maybe our favorite downtown spot. A very hip atmosphere in the arts and entertainment district. On nice days, the garage door is opened to the outside. Known for their Craft Beer, Wood Fired Pizzas, and Salads. Don’t miss Thirsty Souls. Brandon and I personally like the Meat Pizza, but our wives go for the Goat. *WD*

Founded in 2002, ONS was one the first of many new restaurants/bars in the area. The Founder began ONS as a Vineyard. Rather than housing the winery at the vineyard, he placed it downtown to help in the downtown revitalization effort. Home of the Fish Hippie Wine, ONS is a must stop for wine coinsurer. It also has one of Mt. Airy more upscale dining options *WD*

This is a must see to see the 90+ year old barber chairs and supplies that helped Give Andy the clean cut that we are all familiar with. If you are lucky, Bill will take your picture and commemorate the visit on the shop’s Facebook page
