Information about getting around in The Netherlands
Amsterdam is the capital city of the Netherlands and an amazing place to visit. Just walking around in the city gives you a great impression of Amsterdam life.
Amsterdam is also the home of many interesting museums like the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, Hermitage museum, Anne Frank house, Madame Tussauds, Dam palace etc. Please note that now in most of the museums you have to buy your tickets in advance and reserve your timeslot.
The Pijp, Jordaan & Oud-Zuid are neighbourhoods I recommend to stroll around. Also the Albert Cuypmarket is worth a visit.
On the Ouderzijdse voorburgwal (when you come in by train 3 mins from the central station) and on the Stadhouderskade you’ll find boats that take you on a boat tour around the canals.

The Hague is the city where the governement rules and has a very International vibe. The city center has beautiful squares where you can enjoy a coffee or lunch and interesting museums and other sightseeing attractions such as Madurodam (miniature Netherlands).
The Hague is also on the coast, which makes it interesting to visit Scheveningen, the beach part of The Hague. It has a big boulevard with lots of restaurants, bars (like the pianobar) and other activities (like a sea aquarium). In the Scheveningen harbour you’ll find the best fresh fish and beachclubs (in summer season).
