just down the trail from Earthquake Park is Point Woronzof. It's an excellent place to view the planes landing at the airport, and you might see some wildlife too. Can walk down to a rocky beach from the parking log.

It's a nice little zoo on the hillside. See lots of Alaskan wildlife that have been rescued. Kids love it.

It is a great store, but if you are looking to do a more extensive grocery haul, it might be better to go to Carrs for Fred Meyer. It's a small market but offers fresh seafood, meats, fresh veggies and fruit, fresh Alaskan-roasted coffee, a salad bar, La'roma Deli, Bakery, and a take-out section for freshly prepared food. A breakfast time hint for pastry lovers-if you are feeding a group, you can get a bag of day-old baked goods at a significant discount. They keep yesterday's baked goods near the deli. Also, if you are in a hurry and need a quick bite, they make lovely breakfast burritos in a warmer near the deli.
