The Salt Rock Beach is 350 meters, or a 3-4 minute walk away from the house. It's heaven for beach lovers, families, snorkeling and fishing fans. A big tidal pool and rocks densely populated by mussels are its treasures. I recommend fetching mussels from a flat rock just 100 meters on the left of the tidal pool and cook them in our kitchen, yum! The beach remains quiet, as it is not crowded like in Ballito or Promenade in Durban centre.
Historically Salt Rock is where sailors rested on their way to Richards Bay. These days it's a place to relax.

The farm used to breed crocodiles for meat and manufacturing luxury goods, however the demand is now in decline. Besides the crocs, you will see venomous snakes.

There are trails for all levels of fitness. Get onto Pumula trail to get a chance to see zebras. Entrance fee is R50, free for Rhino Card holders. Printed maps available for R20.
