There are plenty of bronze statues in and around the city of Plymouth. Nancy Astor is just one of many. Nancy (19 May 1879 – 2 May 1964) was an American-born British politician who was the first woman seated as a Member of Parliament (MP), serving from 1919 to 1945.

British Firework Championships held in August each year.

The British Firework Championships are held in Plymouth every year. The fireworks are set off from Mount Batten Pier and can be seen from afar. The best place to view the fireworks is from the Hoe - directly opposite the pier. The dates are released closer to the event and is usually held over two consecutive nights. Take a blanket as it gets cold in the evenings.
