This is a working oyster farm where you may sit and enjoy oysters right out of the ocean. It doesn’t get any fresher than this! There are lots of tables, cold beer, and a store where you can grab a bushel of shellfish to take home or enjoy back at the cabin. Reservations are currently required for the saloon under Covid guidelines, but the store is open daily to all. 360-877-5811

There are also shellfish farmers, artisans, and food booths for ready made meals to go. The salmon eggs Benedict is my favorite and can be found at the fish and chips stand.

This is a quiet neighborhood of mostly retired adults. The road ends just past our home, so there is very little traffic. I feel comfortable jogging along the road, though there are no sidewalks. There is no end to the stunning views to be enjoyed. Be sure to take a walk around Kamilche Point to Wildcat Cove to see the view of Mt. Rainier.

It is a gateway to many state parks like Jerrel Cove and Potlatch State Park. Be sure to get a shellfish license if you would like to gather your own oysters.
Check out the Skyline Drive-in halfway between the cabin and Shelton. They have regular showings in the spring and summer months.
