From 1951 to 2009, the site of Campus No. 805 helped to educate thousands of students in Huntsville and Madison County, creating an academic and athletic legacy that will live on for generations to come. After its doors closed in 2009 it was put on the market and purchased in 2014 to create a unique development that would preserve the legacy of the school and offer a dynamic entertainment venue for the community. Campus 805 is now home to many great restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and if you open the right set of lockers you may find yourself in a secret speakeasy. A personal favorite is the Yellowhammer Brewery where you can grab a locally crafted beer, delicious Earth and Stone pizza, and specialty ice cream with a twist. You can take your food and eat on the patio or the old athletic field! To recapture and preserve the athletic fields, the City of Huntsville created an urban park with a recreational lawn that connects the new and old buildings.
