Nice famers market within the Peace Valley Amish community. During the summer they have wood oven pizzas and other food to eat while you're there.

Things to Do: Mammoth Cave National Park

The quickest way to the house for most guests will involve a scenic 25 minute drive through Mammoth Cave National Park. This includes crossing the Green River Ferry. The Ferry is free and is the quickest way to get from the visitors center to the house as well. Rarely the ferry will close, but you can always call about the status at 270-758-2166.

The drive to this trailhead is what makes it beautiful. Not 1,000 feet from the house is the start of "Ugly Creek Rd." On your right will be mostly National Park Land, and on your left will be private land. I highly recommend making this drive.

This is where the journey begins. All tours will start from here, and this is where many trailheads begin. I would recommend taking time and talking with a park ranger about their favorite spots and picking up a map.

Good trailhead to start your hike, or ride. Large parking spaces for horse trailers to pull through.

This trail runs for 16 miles along the Mammoth Cave Parkway entrance. The trail is mostly flat but does have some difficult sections. This is a great trail for biking, running and hiking as its well maintained.

Food and Groceries

Blue Holler Cafe is a German restaurant just a few miles from the house. The back porch over looks Mammoth Cave NP.

Mammoth Cave Tours

The #1 thing I would recommend in the area is taking a tour of Mammoth Cave. The tours can sell out fast, especially in the summer months, so I would highly recommend booking in advance. Tours can be booked at recreation . gov. The tours can change throughout the year, but the Historical Tour is my favorite.

AllTrails App

If you are planning to do some hiking or biking, I would recommend downloading the AllTrails app. Here you can see all of the trails Mammoth Cave has to offer as well as view the conditions of the trail, difficulty level, and comments of recent hikers.
