Popotla is 17 minutes far driving from home. It is a little fishing village where fishermen bring in their catch daily for sale right on the beach. There are also local restaurants in the area desperately trying to get your business, a beverage stop, and seafood restaurants along the beach selling anything from raw oysters to fried fish, crab, lobster, practically anything caught from the fishermen. Vendors can also be seen selling souvenirs and other touristy type gifts. Upon arriving here, park, AVOID THE PEOPLE FLAGGING YOU DOWN...They are just trying to get you in to some of the restaurants. Grab a drink from the beverage stop, then head straight down to the beach, enjoy the vibe, enjoy fresh seafood, and have fun in Popotla! ALOHA!!!

Downtown Tijuana is referred to as the Zona Centro. It includes Revolucion Avenue, which is the main tourist drag. For about 8 blocks, Revolucion is lined with shops, bars, and restaurants, many aimed at tourists. Nicknamed by the locals as “La Revu” (short for Revolución), the city's best-known artery is also the most touristy. Located in the old part of the city, it began its career to fame during the Prohibition years in the United States, becoming an alternative place where to drink alcohol without getting in trouble with the US law. Nowadays, it still concentrates a good number of restaurants, canteens, nightclubs and craft shops. One of the symbols of the city, the Arco de Tijuana, 60 meters (196 feet) high, welcomes visitors and tells them the time, since it is actually a clock. Another famous landmark on the avenue is the restaurant at Caesar's Palace Hotel, where the Caesar salad was invented. Legend goes that one of the cooks created the dish and the restaurant's owner, the Italian immigrant César Cardini World-famous Caesar`s Salad was born here, in Tijuana, in 1927. To start exploring a little further “La Revu”, when night falls, you have to reach the intersection with La Sexta, which has become the focal point of nightlife in Tijuana. Those who are looking to enter the cultural world of the city, as well as alternative corners, should take a look at Pasaje Rodríguez or Pasaje Revolución, both located in the downtown area, near “La Revu”, where they will find spaces dedicated to art (photography, theater, literature, painting), gastronomy, craft beer, design shops, coffee shops and colorful murals.
