Food scene

There are wonderful restaurants throughout Hilton Head for all budgets. These are a few of our favorites.
We dined at Chez George for our anniversary and they did not disappoint. From the exceptional service to the decor to the outstanding cuisine, this restaurant does not disappoint. It’s more upscale than a number of other places on the island, and definitely a go-to for special occasions.

If you like gnocchi, Pomodori's ricotta gnocchi is out of this world. Their food is so good - hearty and tasty - and their service has been consistently good.

Charlie's L'Etoile Verte serves delicious cuisine with top-notch service. We have only had carry-out due to circumstances, but even with curbside, the service is excellent.

The pastries are delectable and their coffee is good and strong. Get your food to-go, walk across to the small boardwalk / park, and grab a bench overlooking the marshland.

The Old Oyster Factory overlooks the marshland, and is a beautiful spot for lunch or dinner. The food was excellent, even when we got it to-go. The service was expedient, and their curb-side service is efficient. If you like seafood, definitely check out this restaurant when in town.

The food was delicious! We arrived at 7:30pm on a Sunday to Hilton Head so a number of dining establishments were either closed or not doing takeout. We ended up ordering from OKKO out of necessity and so glad we did. The food was fresh, tasty, and correct. We’ll be dining at OKKO when we’re back in HHHI.

Neighborhood Gems

These are a few of our favorite spots as we continue to discover the wonders of the island.
Beautiful park right off Pope Road. We like to get lunch to-go, find a bench, and enjoy the scenery. Parking can be tight because the lot is small, though.

Sightseeing

A beautiful national refuge just a few miles outside of Hilton Head. You can take a walk, photograph wildlife, and just breathe in nature. Parking can be tight, so go earlier in the day. And make sure to pack bug spray. Also, there aren't any restrooms or places to get water, so make sure to prepare accordingly prior to going. For more information, check out: https://www.fws.gov/refuge/Pinckney_Island/about.html

Things to Do

There are so many things to do in Hilton Head, but here are a few ideas to start you on your adventures.
From the Palmetto Dunes site, "Hilton Head Island’s only par-70 public golf course, the George Fazio course at Palmetto Dunes is one of the island’s most distinctive and challenging layouts. Many golfers regard it as the most challenging public course on the island, but don’t let that intimidate you. It is designed to be a true but fair test for golfers of all skill levels." https://www.palmettodunes.com/golf/george-fazio-course
