Elk on 38 Tapas bar & restaurant oozes a trendy and moody vibe of dark walls adorned with vibrant artwork, polished wood and comfy armchairs, under the glow of pendent lights. Opt to sit at high stools and sip a drink of choice, while pondering a shared plate menu of deli platters and tapas treats such as mushroom arancini balls, served on a bed of rocket with balsamic glaze. Perhaps delve into meatballs, mint and tomato sauce with warm baguette slices topped with pecorino cheese, or finger lickin' good chicken winglets, drizzled with lime aioli before a sweet treat from the display cabinet.

Fancy a hit of golf on a beautiful island?Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club has to be one of the most picturesque public golf courses in Australia. Its unique location on Stuart Island surrounded by the Nambucca River at Nambucca Heads makes it a magnificent setting for a game of golf. Where else can you play golf while watching dolphins swim by in the pristine river while an abundance of bird life including pelicans, osprey and sea eagles fly overhead. But this is not just a great location. The par 69, 18 hole layout designed by Ross Watson is both a challenge for the experienced player but enjoyable for an average golfer. It is a flat easy walk on fairways lined with she oak and paper bark trees. Our Bent Grass greens are often described as the best north of Newcastle and are the result of decades of dedicated work. https://www.namgolf.com/

At the southern end of Nambucca Shire, Scotts Head is an idyllic place for families to visit. The sands of Main Beach stretch for miles to the north making it the perfect place to enjoy a solitary walk, build a sandcastle, paddle in clear water or run across sand so clean it squeaks beneath your feet. While the gentle waves are perfect for young children, a variety of surf breaks make it a popular spot for all surfers. This beach is patrolled daily during summer holidays and at weekends from October to Easter.
