The delightful coastal village of Walberswick offers unspoilt dunes, a great beach, and why not try crabbing off the pier, and pop into the harbour huts to pick up some fresh fish, or fish & chips. There is a lovely deli in the village selling super coffee, fresh bread, and takeaway homemade food.

Snape Maltings has a phenomenal concert hall if you fancy catching some live music (jazz, contemporary, classical, opera). The venue is surrounded by award winning independent shops. It's also hugely popular with bird watchers, and nature lovers because of the surrounding marshes and reeds. You can walk for miles.

Covehithe beach sits at the end of the world, down a dead-end lane that literally falls off the edge of a cliff and beneath the dramatic remains of St Andrews Church. There is just a ruin, a farm and a quiet beach, reached across fields and backed by the tranquil waters of Covehithe Broad. Take the footpath 100m before the church and follow the field edge to the beach. [n.b. there are no toilets and the footpath is not buggy friendly].

Dunwich is known as the lost city of England. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it’s perfect if you love nothing more than long walks beside the sea and a lovely country pub (The Ship). The car park is seconds from the beach (& it’s free!)

The Locks Inn at Geldeston is one of Suffolk's best kept secrets. Totally off the beaten track and off grid. We tend to park in Barsham Church and walk there over the broads. It's recently been taken over, however the food hasn't always been great, but the views are to die for, swim in the river on the way and get a nice cold pint of local brew.
