Food scene

Excellent food and service. During the cooler months, you'd best make a reservation. They have a nice bar upstairs with a smaller menu that does not require a reservation. There is a small patio in front that allows pets and back patio that doesn't.

If you're out that way, it's another place where Fido can run. Not my favorite dog park. It's been years since I was out there b/c it was bare bones - no trees, small but at least it exists. The rest of the park is great.

If you enjoy nature and walking, the preserve is walking distance from my house. It offers various well-marked paths with small hills, a hidden flowing creek, a large pond and plenty of gopher tortoises, water birds and butterflies. The blue markings keep you on the Lake Alfred Trail, which loops the lake and the red markings are for the Ravine Trail. Open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Located at 2010 Abrams Road in Eustis, behind the LDS Church. Sadly, pets are NOT allowed.

Dogs not allowed to attend Mount Dora festivals

The most popular draw to Mount Dora is the annual Art Festival in February and dogs are not allowed. For the most part, Mount Dora forbids dogs from their street festivals. Eustis and Tavares don't seem to share this ban.
