This is a wonderful place to walk around, eat lunch, pick fruit from the orchard, shop for souvenirs, sample distilled spirits, play ultimate frisbee.
You can actually walk to Chattooga Belle Farm from Moresun Bunkhouse. Go down to the end of Kenneth Road (away from Hwy. 76), cross over a dam (there are no trespassing signs, but this is actually a public dam), and walk up to Chattooga Belle Farm and the Distillery. Takes maybe 30 minutes to walk there.

One of our family's favorite hikes! This wonderful waterfall flows directly into the Chattooga River. It's a 40 minute hike (each way) and very steep for about 5 minutes getting down to river and back up. Not recommended for young kids or people with mobility issues.

Turkey Ridge RoadOne of our family's favorite hikes! This wonderful waterfall flows directly into the Chattooga River. It's a 40 minute hike (each way) and very steep for about 5 minutes getting down to river and back up. Not recommended for young kids or people with mobility issues.
Falls ranging from 20 to 40 feet. Requires climbing down unmarked trail. The US Forest Service is working to improve trails. The trail to the right is difficult and dangerous, not for novice hikers, but for active individuals view of the falls are amazing. The left trail is a more family friendly short hike. (Brasstown BBQ is on the way. A great place to eat if you catch them open Friday or Saturday evenings.)

This is a popular take-out point for people doing Section III of the Chattooga River. And also a put-in point for boaters/rafters doing Section IV.
It's one of the more accessible places to hike into for swimming or viewing the river. From the parking area, go RIGHT on the trail to reach the Bull Sluice rapid--an impressive spot with huge boulders. A nice place to watching rafting trips run the rapid. Go LEFT on the trail to reach a sandy beach area.

This is a popular take-out point for people doing Section III of the Chattooga River. And also a put-in point for boaters/rafters doing Section IV.

1220 Chau Ram Park RdA nice option for families. It's about 15 minutes away. The shady park has playgrounds, covered picnic shelters, picnic tables next to the river, bathroom facilities, trails, and handicap access to a waterfall. (Park entry is $2 per car.)

This is the Take Out for Section IV river trips. This is where you can leave a shuttle vehicle or have someone meet your group to pick you up after running Section IV.
It is also a nice place to stand up paddle board.

Verizon is the only provider that serves the area. Even with Verizon, cell reception is very limited/non-existent within the Chattooga River corridor.

The river is federally protected with "Wild & Scenic" status. Which means there is a 1/4 mile boundary along the river where no roads or development are allowed next to the river. It is necessary to walk at least 1/4 mile to reach the river from parking areas.
