Neighborhood grocery store

This is my go to store. They carry by far the best selection of locally produced food- bread, beer, organic produce, in house cut meat, local coffee and tea and pretty much anything else you may need

Samgöngur

Just walk (or bike)

Parking downtown is not always available. Your Daly digs location is conveniently located to get you into Hamilton’s downtown in about seven minutes or less!

Bicyclists be careful

Many locals especially those driving large vehicles (trucks) cannot see cyclists when backing out of parking spaces downtown. Be sure to stay aware of traffic. Use your ears as well as your eyes to sense potential clashes.

How locals give directions

In the Bitterroot Valley we have very discernible geographical features. That’s what’s so great about this place! The very tall jagged mountains are to the WEST. The rounded hilly mountains are on the EAST. The Bitterroot River runs North to Missoula. So we say things like: head DOWN to Missoula, like down stream. If you are going to Darby from your Daly Digs house you’d go north to the 3 way stop sign, head West to the highway and turn south. Drive up the highway about 15 miles or so an you’ll be there.

Friendly waves on isolated dirt roads 😊

Folks that live in isolated areas mostly on unpaved roads to hiking trails or river access often wave to anyone they meet on the road. It’s a friendly gesture that I love about Montana. So give a smile and a wave, you’ll get one back !
