Winter activities
Summer and I aren't sporty people, but we like to do things here and there.
Stevens Pass is a great ski and snowboard area with many slopes for beginners and for experts. We are eternal beginners, so we don't know how good the expert slopes are! They offer rentals, classes, and have a nice cafe.

Lake Valhalla Trailhead is a great place for snowshoeing or hiking with great views!! Summer and I are beginner showshoers and it's perfect for us; it takes us a couple of hours at an easygoing pace. There are great places for breaks as well! Once you pass the power station thing on the right, you are about halfway to the amazing view.

Takeout
COVID-19 season is takeout season. These are Summer and my favorite spots for takeout around Bifröst.
Great to-go food very close by. They often take longer than they say to prepare your food, but they're a great crew and you can get takeout cocktails during the pandemic.

Neighborhoods
If you're coming to Bifröst from the west, take a nice detour from Highway 2 by turning left on Reiter Road. It's a woodsy, winding, empty, well-paved road where the trees look beautiful especially in the fall. It will dump you back on Highway 2 and adds about 15 minutes to the journey.

Summer activities
Summer in Skykomish is full of great homes and river fun!
Skykomish River runs right alongside Bifröst! To get foot-friendly access, walk 5 minutes down the road from Bifröst in either direction and look for a "beach access" sign. The water is knee deep as long as you stick to the shores, and is kid-friendly with adult supervision! Beware of rocks.

These trails snake through old abandoned railroads and tunnels! There are multiple hiking routes for different difficulties, and several loopback points to turn around at, so you don't have to pre-plan your hike too much.
