For all Trekkies! The Star Trek universe is here for you to visit. Complete with the Trek Visitor center and the Starship Enterprise replica statue. If you go during the spring/summer, stop by the water park! It's a small but very fun pool, complete with climbing wall, water slides, diving board, and shallow kiddie pools.

Just the best hikes this province has to offer, and, in our humble opinion, also the best beaches in summer. There are so many hikes here, hard to name just a few. You can go anywhere and it's all stunning. And hands down the best beach Calgary (and area) has to offer is Barrier Lake. It is the most scenic, surrounded by mountains and hills, yet it is a sandy beach that is not terribly busy and is not the coldest lake here by far. On a hot summer day this is the beach to be at. Best to go on a sunny day otherwise the water would definitely be a bit on the chilly side.
As well a few great hikes of mention are Troll Falls, Johnston Canyon (very touristy that one), and Grassi Lakes.

Just the best hikes this province has to offer, and, in our humble opinion, also the best beaches in summer. There are so many hikes here, hard to name just a few. You can go anywhere and it's all stunning. And hands down the best beach Calgary (and area) has to offer is Barrier Lake. It is the most scenic, surrounded by mountains and hills, yet it is a sandy beach that is not terribly busy and is not the coldest lake here by far. On a hot summer day this is the beach to be at. Best to go on a sunny day otherwise the water would definitely be a bit on the chilly side.
As well a few great hikes of mention are Troll Falls, Johnston Canyon (very touristy that one), and Grassi Lakes.
Epic lazy river to tube down, with a chill sandy beach at the bottom. Great for the young and old. As well as a large playground. Great area to picnic. Not a huge pool/lazy river, but great fun nonetheless that is inexpensive and a must to cross off your to-do list. A bit over an hour from our place on highway 2/Deerfoot Tr!

3800 River Bend DriveEpic lazy river to tube down, with a chill sandy beach at the bottom. Great for the young and old. As well as a large playground. Great area to picnic. If you love dogs, you'll LOVE these 'dogs', or well, oversized furballs. They're stunning and sweet, and this is a non-profit Sanctuary dedicated to driving awareness and education surrounding wolfdogs.

263156 Range Rd 53If you love dogs, you'll LOVE these 'dogs', or well, oversized furballs. They're stunning and sweet, and this is a non-profit Sanctuary dedicated to driving awareness and education surrounding wolfdogs.
COWBOY TRAIL! I couldn't add 'cowboy trail' to the location, but it is the Foothills County. This is a trail that goes through the Diamond Valley - which is made up of a few towns (namely Longview, Black Diamond, Turner Valley, Millarville). These towns have incredible shops, delicious and fun eats, a lot of culture, and just gorgeous scenery. You won't want to leave.
As well, don't miss the 'big rock' outside of Black Diamond! It's a HUGE rock that migrated from the moutains in the middle of the prairie, and is something you to have to see for yourself to understand its magnitude.

Another stunning lake, near Banff/Lake Louise. Very touristy, either arrive very early or later in the afternoon. Definitely worth a visit.

While actually not in Alberta, it is not far outside of it. It is our preferred hot springs! And the town of Radium is beautiful in general. Avoid the crowds and stop in here, you won't be disappointed. It's more rolling hills than mountains, but the hot springs are carved right into the rock and really are the best there is that are close to Alberta. There's also always plenty of mountain goats hanging around!

Radium Hot Springs
While actually not in Alberta, it is not far outside of it. It is our preferred hot springs! And the town of Radium is beautiful in general. Avoid the crowds and stop in here, you won't be disappointed. It's more rolling hills than mountains, but the hot springs are carved right into the rock and really are the best there is that are close to Alberta. There's also always plenty of mountain goats hanging around!

A literal huge vibrant hill in the city, with stunning views of the entire city and plenty of greenery. A vast park to walk, run, or cycle with paved pathways and trails. Park in one of the lots along 14 Street NW or John Laurie Blvd to get a great work out walking up to the top. Paved path for a bicycle from John Laurie, or trails from 14 Street. Or park in the lot off of Shaganappi Tr NW to avoid the walk up.

6465 14 St NWA literal huge vibrant hill in the city, with stunning views of the entire city and plenty of greenery. A vast park to walk, run, or cycle with paved pathways and trails. Park in one of the lots along 14 Street NW or John Laurie Blvd to get a great work out walking up to the top. Paved path for a bicycle from John Laurie, or trails from 14 Street. Or park in the lot off of Shaganappi Tr NW to avoid the walk up.

May be the most beautiful location in the city. There is a stunning path which goes around the reservoir. The views are beautiful, the reservoir is stunning, the park is lush with trees and greenery. There are pathways al through Glenmore Park. Weaslehead park is here also, it is on the north side of 37 Street SW. Another very scenic, forrested park area within the city. It will make you forget you're still in the city! These are both great areas to walk, run, or cycle.

May be the most beautiful location in the city. There is a stunning path which goes around the reservoir. The views are beautiful, the reservoir is stunning, the park is lush with trees and greenery.
