This small natural plunge pool is close to the house. If you take the back road and follow Google Maps, you can walk there depending on the weather.
The place is set in nature, so bring a blanket and a small picnic for an afternoon of relaxation.

Food scene
When you go to the beach at Cacela Velha about 15 kms from Tavira, you should plan your trip in such a way that you want to have a early dinner before coming home. There is a great restaurant by the name of Casa da Igreja (just next to the small church). This restaurant is literally a hole in the wall. Its great food and value for money. Their oysters are GREAT!!. Fresh from Rio Formosa. They have a standard menu of 15 items. All their portions are oversized so one dish can be shared by two or even three persons depending on the number of dishes you order. It opens at 16.30 hrs and closes at 22.00 hrs during summer only. Please ensure you go there at 16:00 hrs if you want o get a table by 17:30 hrs. It is based on a first come, first serve basis they do not take they
do not make reservations. So when you get there, please ensure you write your name on the waiting list at the cash counter inside. Note that this is a fish restaurant so it is not open on Monday's as the fisherman do not fish on Sunday's so they do not get a early morning catch to serve the following day.

However, it has a full sea food menu and you can generally get in even if you don't have a reservation. All their sea food is locally produced to the extent that the oysters are literally removed from the sea in the morning and served to you in the afternoon. This restaurant is not open on Monday's as the fisherman do not fish on Sunday :) .

Our favorite local, low key, seafood restaurant. Also serves great secretos de porco preto (famous Iberian black pork, only available in the region).
The restaurant is located at the junction when going to town or connecting to the main road - cannot miss as you are likely to pass by every time you go out with the car.
Go on Sundays and you find yourself surrounded by local families. Closed on Mondays.
