Abc stores carry all the essentials you may need during your trip. They are located throughout Waikiki for easy access. This one is just a 2 minute walk down the street.

Food scene
One of the most iconic food items is the Portuguese donut known as a “malasada”. Deep fried and coated in sugar it’s especially delicious when it’s hot so you will often see people standing outside eating it. You can also get it filled with various creams. Try the “haupia” or coconut cream for a delicious treat.
Half hour walk from hotel but plenty of eateries along the way.

Excellent food court and coffee on first floor, shopping mall, fine dining on third level. Great visual design in the mall feels like a forest with shopping. Entrance of n Kuhio Avenue or Kalaau’s.

Hike
Short hike up to incredible views on the top of an extinct volcano. To get there you enter a tunnel in the side of the crater near Kapiolani Community College. There is a fee for the hike and to park so Uber or Lyft may be a good option. . Bring a flashlight since a portion of the hike is in a dark tunnel. Closes at 4:30. Check to see if open for business.
Short hike but always bring water and sunscreen. It is uphill so wear sneakers and dress cool. No heels!

If you drive 20 minutes to the valley north of Waikiki you will find the Manoa Falls hike. It’s a 45 minute hike to a large waterfall. Very beautiful but don’t swim in it to avoid bacterial infections. It is relatively flat but there are some rocky portions and can be very muddy after it rains. Recently renovated for smoother trail. Bring mosquito repellent.

If you have never shot a gun you can fire one at this indoor range. It’s not for the experienced shooter and you can’t share bullets but it’s a great experience for the first time shooter. Expect to pay a lot for larger caliber guns though. You must be an adult or have a parent.
