Blackwater Creek is the predominant trail system for hiking and biking in Lynchburg. Different segments of the trail highlight different nature areas and sights of the city. Points of interest are Hollins Mill, Percival's Island, the Awareness Garden, James River & Black Water Creek! Trails vary from paved, to gravel roads, to single-file wooded paths. All are moderate to easy in difficulty.
