Hidden gem for fresh oysters (look in the case at the back corner) and great deals in wine and spirits. We routinely find Mondavi wines for $10! If you’re lucky, you will be here on a Saturday when Tom has been smoking meat since Friday morning. You’ll be able to tell as soon as you step outside your car and the unmistakable scent of the barbecue assails you. There are quirky finds including fresh lemon grass (in the fresh food section), white sweet potatoes, and East Indian tahini.

There are many ways to enjoy the local river views. The easiest is to take the toad past the lumber mill and pull off at the quarry after you cross the bridge so you can walk back on foot to enjoy the river’s music and beauty

Biking

Within ten minutes of leaving your cabin, you can be biking your way along the path of the old Darrington railway Ignore the trail closed sign - there is an old washout that you’ll need to dismount for so you can walk your bike around the barrier. The small slide was less than 25 feet wide
