Arguably the jewel in West Oxfordshire’s crown, Blenheim Palace is a World Heritage Site with over 300 years of history. As well as the palace, there are extensive grounds in which to walk - and also rowing boat hire on the lake during August and September (again, booking is required). Well worth booking tickets in advance for speedier entry. To reach Blenheim Palace from our accommodation, you will need to pass through Bladon. If you visit the quiet churchyard of this small village, you will find the final resting place of Sir Winston Churchill, who was born in Blenheim Palace.

The Westgate Centre is Oxford newest shopping destination and has most major brands plus a rooftop terrace for restaurants, bars, cafes and cinema. It has an underground car park for convenience - a cheaper option could be the Park and Ride Service - and the Seacourt Park and Ride will drop you outside the Centre. Have a walk away from the shopping centre towards the centre of the city to find other shops and eateries - and don’t miss the Covered Market.

Parking in Oxford

Parking in Oxford city centre can be expensive. We recommend using the Park and Ride services, which are situated on the outskirts of Oxford. During part of 2023 and 2024, the Botley Road will be closed to traffic heading to the City Centre, due to improvement works to Oxford train station. Please bear this in mind if visiting the city and consider using the Pear Tree Park and Ride to the north of the city, rather than Seacourt Park and Ride to the west.
