Set on a hill in Arundel town centre, the Castle makes an impressive sight. The Medieval castle has been added to and extended over the centuries. The gardens are also gorgeous. If you're lucky enough to be visiting in the spring time you'll witness the bulb festival.
You need to allow a couple of hours for a visit. At the moment pre-booking is essential.

Petworth House and Park (National Trust) are well worth a visit. The 17th Century Grand Country House boasts a rich art collection, as well as servants’ quarters and Capability Brown designed parkland, with lovely walks. The town of Petworth is a lovely spot for a stroll too.

A family favourite, this compact park, a short walk from the east end of Bognor High Street is a little haven. With lots of shade and woodland to run around in, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or slice of cake in the lovely cafe with big windows and lots outside space, play adventure golf, or ride the mini-railway (usually operating through-out July and August) it circles the park, great for little ones. Look out for the wooden carvings of Alice and her friends.
And on a Saturday morning it hosts the Bognor Park Run (when they come back).

Felpham (pronounced Felfam!) is large village on the edge of Bognor, with its own charm. The original village centre is quite pretty with a number of shops and a couple of decent pubs.
William Blake spent 3 years living in the village from 1800 and Blakes Cottage still stands. Look out for the Blue Plaques and information boards on Blake.
The beach is popular with locals, with a couple of cafes, putting, tennis courts and generally quieter beaches than Bognor or Littlehampton.

William Blake spent 3 years living in the village from 1800 and Blakes Cottage still stands. Look out for the Blue Plaques and information boards on Blake.

A small area to the West of Bognor, Pagham might be worth a visit if you fancy a quieter beach, but still with facilities, a walk around the harbour (which is a nature reserve) or a the lagoon. It also has a couple of decent pubs with food.

Pronounced Bozzum (!), this village on the edge of Chichester Harbour is a beautiful spot. Avoid high spring tides or you might find yourself paddling in the main street. This is where King Canute tried to turn back the tide. There's a small pub down by the church.

An easy, flat walk around the edge of the salt marsh harbour is great for everyone, not just bird lovers (I understand there's more to see in Winter from an ornithological perspective). You'll need to head back to Pagham Beach or village for refreshments.

There's a kiosk for ice-creams and rowing boats for hire in the Summer months. If you fancy a longer walk other paths join this walk and head up into the hills.

From Arundel, Littlehampton and Ford you can access the river for short and long walks alike. If you're near Littlehampton you may spot the resident seal or see Oyster Catchers and White Egrets, further up Reed Buntings and views of the hills mean there's always something to look at.

Not far from the city centre, the canal basin is the starting point for an easy flat walk, which covers 4 miles of open farmland from the Basin to Chichester Harbour at Birdham.
There are cafes at each end for re-fueling! Rowing boats can be hired, pre-booking is required. And TJ Boards run paddle boarding trips on the canal or bring your own kayak for a gentle paddle. If energy levels are low just take the very relaxing boat trip.

I'd definitely recommend a visit to Chichester's famous theatre, one of the best provincial theatres in the country - they are back up and running!
