Bakery (around 2km from your stay directly in Vale de Cavalos, Rua Pedro Maria Gaio, 5) Local bakery, where you can find nice freshly made bread (my favorites are the little ones called Bolas) and traditional pastries like Boleimas and Queijadas. Their pastries selected every year as the one of best of Portugal. You can also get a coffee or a drink there. P.S. they have no bread on Sundays

For the ones that love to swim or do some water-sport, here is the place. The water is clean and deep and there is a lots of space. During summer is better to avoid the hot day period, because there are not so many places to hide from the sun. There is also a little quite bar/lounge to have a drink or eat something little.

Closest Waterfall. It has a lots of shade, different water levels, also good with kids. There is a new trail (park beside the chapel), very easy and short. Take food and drinks. On the weekends (July and August) it is normally crowded.

There is so little light around the house, since this is one of the less light polluted regions in Europe, it is the perfect place to watch the stars!
