Balcones Canyonlands has over eight miles of hiking and is a great place to explore the refuge's many wildlife habitats. It's about a 10-12 minute drive from our property.

Off the beaten path
We are a lake community with only a few places to eat so it would be good to stock up with some basic snacks or food prep items. We have a well equipped kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, etc. As well as spices and a nice grill for you. There is a good sized grocery store at the corner of Boggy Ford and FM 1431 that should have everything you need. Who wants to leave the lake anyway!

If you need anything you would find at a typical hardware store, go to Sun Hardware. Tom and the gang are super hospitable and knowledgable. Tell them Ralph sent you!

Try Dave's Taco Truck in the Hillside Texaco parking lot. Really good food from native Honduran's. Try the Papusa! It is delish! They are always busy so you can call and put in you order. 737-932-1931
