Food Scene

Great food. A wide variety of dishes on the menu. A great place to let your "hair hang out!" Great beers: local and otherwise.

Hudson River view in Cornwall NY (four miles from Newburgh)

Hudson River Cornwall view #1: From my house, drive to the corner make a left turn onto Liberty Street, go two blocks to Renwick, make a right turn, drive to the bottom of the hill, make a right turn onto Water Street. Drive to the end of the street, when you see the street blocked because of construction, make the right turn, go one block to the first traffic light, you will be at Route 9W, make a left turn and drive on Route 9W. Drive a few miles, you will cross a bridge, you will make a turn at the first light after the bridge (Shore Rd/Sloop Hill). Shortly you will come to a fork in the road, go to the left and take that road (which goes along the railroad tracks), you will cross those tracks then you will be at your destination. You can park, take pictures, picnic, and explore. It's such a wonderful area that is never crowded. Hudson River Cornwall View #2: Most of the same directions as above, you will get on Route 9W, cross over the bridge but stay on Route 9W, you will take the exit for Route 218, you will go off the exit and continue left where you be on Academy St, take it all the way to the end. There you will make a left turn onto Hudson St. You will pass a Cumberland Farms/store/gas station, you will stay on Hudson Street, you will see a sign for Route 218, go that way which leads up a mountain. You will see at the very top a lookout point. You will pass it to see if there is room for you to park there, go to the bottom of the hill, make a U-Turn, and if there are not too many cars at the lookout point, go back up to it, park, take pictures and feel the breeze. Believe me, it is worth the effort! ---------------------------------------------------------------------
